Hello all. This past weekend my friends and I took a trip to Madrid! We went with our program, CEA, and took a high-speed train from Barcelona to Madrid (about 2.5 hours). The train was awesome and I hope to take the journey again. This trip was more about the party and less about the tourism, which I suppose was alright because my trip to Rome was solely dedicated to food and tourism. The first night in Madrid we went to a bar called El Tigre, which is an awesome concept. You buy one drink (which is HUGE) and they give you free tapas all night long. The tapas weren’t the best, but they were free! This place was packed and very fun. Afterwards we went to a club called Joy, which I was told afterwards is very touristy but it was huge! Great music as well. We stayed out until 6 in the morning, so needless to say I was exhausted the next day. I did however get up and go to a beautiful parked called Buen Retiro.
We went for sunset and it was stunning. Afterwards we passed by Carnaval which was awesome, and saw some cool costumes. Also we passed by the most stunning building ever, it was a theatre/opera house and it was gorgeous! 
The lighting was so cool as well. Afterwards we got a quick dinner and prepared ourselves for a crazy night at the famous Kapital club. This club was the coolest thing I’ve EVER seen. It has 7 stories and each floor is a different theme and different music plays. There must have been thousands of people there, it was crazy. Heres’s a video of the club:
All in all, the trip to Madrid was awesome and I hope to return again someday to be a real tourist. In other news, my cousin is coming to visit me this weekend and I could not be happier! She is from Chicago and is traveling to a few countries in Europe and will be here for a few days. I cannot wait to show her around. Next weekend I will be going to PARIS. I cannot believe it. I’ll dedicate a post to Paris after my trip!
As for news in sports, my beloved Michigan Wolverines took a hard L to Michigan State last night. It was actually terrifying and we lost by over 20 points. Makes me sick. Our freshmen didn’t show up, Hardaway Jr. got 2 points, and per usual Trey Burke carried the team. I wonder how frustrated he must be feeling that he is the only one who shows up consistently. I just hope we perform better in March Madness because taking an L like that is just unacceptable and embarrassing. 
GO BLUE. (Also, the pitchers and catchers reported to Spring Training on Monday and I am getting so excited for baseball season. Baseball summers are my favorite few months of the year, and I look forward to watching another incredible A’s season unfold in a few months!). See ya later.
